B Social Hospitality, founded in 2021 by Mike and Christal Bramson, is known across DC and Virginia for creating high-energy, multi-faceted bars, restaurants, and event spaces. A key element of all B Social concepts is the curation of a vibrant atmosphere that welcomes guests to live, libate, and let loose.
Founders: Mike and Christal Bramson
Mike Bramson began his career marketing and promoting restaurants. In 2006, he formed an event production company that grew to one of the largest in the Washington DC, Metropolitan area. From festivals to galas, his passion to create unique social experiences with exceptional service was the driving force of the company's success and the impetus behind his next venture.
In 2014, he formed the Social Restaurant Group and opened his first restaurant, Provision No. 14. Provision quickly won accolades for its stunning atmosphere, brunch scene, creative cocktail program, and lively nightlife. In 2018, Bramson and the group opened La Vie, a 10,000-square foot opulent Mediterranean restaurant, located in the city’s coveted Wharf development. La Vie won the German Design Award for interior architecture in 2020.
In 2021, Bramson sold his interest in the Social Restaurant Group and formed B Social Hospitality with his wife, Christal Bramson. Christal, an attorney by trade, has been involved with all Bramson ventures from inception, but, with the formation of B Social Hospitality, has taken a more active role in the operations, design, marketing, and management of the husband/wife duo's concepts.
The Bramsons' creativity and vision are cornerstones in the design and implementation of the culinary and beverage programs in each of their spaces. They have created a loyal following and strong foothold in the Clarendon neighborhood with the opening of Pamplona, a Spanish tapas and bar; the Lot, a massive, outdoor beer garden; and the Clarendon Ballroom, a multi-level entertainment venue and rooftop.
Influences from the Bramsons' love of travel are evidenced in their concepts: Pamplona is based on their retracing of Ernest Hemingway's travels through San Sebastian and Pamplona and their running of the bulls experience. Photographs from their travels are prominently displayed in their Clarendon tapas hotspot. The Lot’s laid back vibe, tropical drinks, and sand bars showcases their love for beach bars.
The Bramsons created the Rebel Taco brand, and what began as a food truck quickly expanded to a food hall at The Bourse in Philadelphia and its first brick and mortar in DC. Rebel Taco’s cult-like following has led to the opening of two more locations in 2022. Bramson also partnered with Michelin star chef Nobu Yamaski and Baltimore-famed Pinch Dumpling to create a fast casual sushi and dumpling concept in the Ballston Quarter Food Hall.
The couple's latest moves include taking over the iconic Whitlow’s space in Clarendon, dividing the space into two distinct locations: band-centric B Live, featuring the best in local entertainment, and tropical-chic Coco B’s Bar & Rooftop, paying homage to Christal's Caribbean heritage. In addition, the Bramsons scored a 45,000-square foot waterfront space at the Navy Yard, which they converted to the Cove, DC first “beach” club.
